Will I be pregnant forever?!

Well, I did make some progress from last weeks Dr's. appointment; I am 1 cm dilated, my Dr. did give me some reassurance in telling me that he's seen women not dilated at all and go into labor in a matter of hours and there are others who stay dilated for a while. So we discussed the possibility of going past my due date and we decided to go ahead and schedule my induction at the hospital if I have not gone into labor on my own by Sat. August 7th, but I am praying that my body will do what it needs to do and we will not have to go that route, but if we do we will check into the hospital at 7pm on Saturday and he said that the baby will most likely be born sometime on Sunday. I had also lost a pound since my last appt and he said from his experience he has seen a trend with women losing weight right before they are going to go into labor, so fingers crossed!! I am just happy that I can see a light at the end of the tunnel now and we will DEFINITELY have a baby by next Sunday, hopefully sooner!!
My next appointment is Wednesday and I will have an ultrasound done at that time to make sure she is still happy in there, but I am assuming she is, since she is not wanting to come out and play! :)

Almost one week to go

There's one week and one day until my due date and still no sign of our little one wanting to join us! At my appointment on Thursday the Dr. told me I was STILL not dilated and just to be patient.... easier said than done, these last couple weeks have went at a snails pace! I know that she is just not ready to come out quite yet and I will know when she is. I am still working my three twelve hour shifts and it's getting to be very exhausting, I am always pretty pooped at the end of the day and ready to kick my feet up. Josh has been excellent to take care of me by cooking and serving me dinner and rubbing my feet and back! My next appointment is Wednesday, so I will update then!
On a sad note, Josh's grandfather gained his angel wings this past Thursday and joined our Lord in Heaven, please pray for his family during this difficult time, I know it has been hard on all of them, he was such a wonderful person.

The Waiting Game....

Now that everything is finished and she is officially full term and could come at anytime, I am more ready than ever. The waiting is killing me, I try not to think about it, but I think me wondering if everyday that passes will be "the day" I am making her stay in there longer! I am going to work until she comes or I physically can't anymore, and I think that is the best thing for me at this point, when I'm working I am so busy I don't have time to think about things and I think all the up and down and moving around might be helping! I had a check up yesterday and everything looked good. He did not check to see if I was dilated because I told him that if I had still not made any progress that I would be disappointed and just didn't want to know. Last week I was not dilated at all. So my next appointment is Thursday and he will check my progress then. I had my last hair appointment before the delivery so I had a little chat with the baby telling her that she can definitely make her debut now :)

31 Days!!!

D-day is a month away, so hard to believe! I am more ready than ever to meet her, not that this journey has not been amazing, but I am so thrilled to become a mother and hold her in my arms! The past week or so I've become more uncomfortable with the heartburn and being tired from not sleeping at night, not to mention it being in the high 90's here everyday, that has not helped. I had an appt yesterday and everything looked great, right on track. I have gained a total of 19 lbs so far and hopefully I will be right at 24 or 25 lbs at the end, which I will be happy with, all for a great cause right!?! Josh and I played around taking some pictures with baby blocks the other day, here is what we came up with: (also I ordered some cute little pacifiers with her name on them)

Travel System

Yayy! We finally got our travel system yesterday at Babies R Us! We came straight home and put it together, I love it. I just had to put Toby in the stroller and take him for a little ride around the living room, he on the other hand is not so fond of it! We really just have a couple more small things to buy before she gets here, but we've got a couple more weeks. Now I will have to motivate Josh to install the car seat base in my car!

Baby Shower

My baby shower was last Saturday and I could not asked for a better shower, it was amazing!!! We got so much great stuff, and I just got done putting everything away (well kind of!) on Tuesday. I had such a great time with all my friends and family. Josh's mom and everyone who pitched in and helped did such a wonderful job....THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!! I got all her clothes washed on Monday and that was a chore, she has lots and lots of clothes (I guess she already takes after her mommy! :)
I had a drs appt yest and my blood pressure was a little elevated, he wasn't too concerned but wants to see me back in a week and a half instead of 2 weeks just to be safe! These next 7 weeks (give or take a couple of weeks) will hopefully fly by... so excited to meet her! Here are some pictures from the shower and the nursery

30 weeks

Time is going by so fast! Josh and I had our childbirth preparation classes over the weekend, and we learned quite a bit, but I am still a little nervous about the labor and delivery. I had a Dr's appt on Monday and everything looked excellent, my blood pressure and weight gain is good, and the baby is already head down! Now I will start going to see my doctor every 2 weeks, until I am 36 weeks, then it will be every week! I am so excited about our baby shower coming up and can't wait to see everyone! 3D Ultrasound of our baby girl

We went for our 3D ultrasound on Monday with my mom and Josh's mom and it was so amazing and worth every penny! It was so good to see our little girl again, and she is quite the performer! She had the hiccups, opened her eyes and smiled for us :) For the first half of the scan she was very cooperative, then I think she caught on to what was going on and got a little shy, she wouldn't put her hand down from her face for most of the second half! I could just stare at the pictures they gave us all day, she is so beautiful and perfect! Our child birth classes are this weekend, so I will update after those to let you know how they went. Getter closer and closer!

A couple of updates from my last entry; I passed my glucose test I took at the doctors, but they did say that my iron was low, so they put me on a daily over the counter iron supplement, I'm hoping that might give me a little more energy! I still feel pretty good, I'm not sleeping all that well, but I guess that is something I better get used to! I cannot believe that in 11 weeks we will meet our little girl, and I'm very excited the baby shower is getting closer, and I can't wait to see all my friends and family I haven't seen in a while. And I'm so grateful for my mother in law who is putting it all together :) I will leave you with a 29 week belly picture

Glucose Test

I had my Dr's appointment today for my glucose tolerance test (I had to drink this orange flavored drink that tasted like flat soda and wait an hour then have my blood drawn)and to check my hemoglobin and iron levels, and he told me I won't get a phone call with the results from those for another week, so now it's the waiting game! Hopefully I passed and will not have to do the 3 hour test (fingers crossed!)Everything checked out great today; my blood pressure was great and my belly is measuring right on track at 27 weeks, he also said my weight gain is on track as well, but I think I need to slow down with all the ice cream at night!!


Josh had a boot camp for new daddy's class on Saturday and he said he really learned a lot from it and I could tell he definitely enjoyed it, and we also went to a breastfeeding class on Sunday and that was very informative and helpful as well.

26 weeks

My belly is getting bigger and bigger every day! At my last visit my doctor informed me I will be gaining 1/2 a pound to a pound a week from here on out....wow! I go for my glucose tolerance test in 2 weeks, and I am hoping that I pass so I won't have to go back to do the 3 hour test! 26 week picture:

6 months already?!

Wow I guess time really is flying by! I am 6 months, so hard to believe! I have my next Dr's appointment on Monday, probably just a real quick one, so I will update on baby girl's progress after my appointment. Here is a 6 month/24 week picture

Yesterday Josh and I went to Babies r Us and Target to do our shower registry. We picked tons of great things and it was very fun and exciting, but wow was I exhausted when we were done, it was a long day.... but I can't wait to see what we get! I hope we picked everything we needed : ) We also bought our glider to put in the nursery and we can pick it up in a week or so!

Hospital Tour

Tonight Josh and I are going for our maternity center tour at CMC Pineville, and I'm really excited, I've heard some great things about it and I can't wait to check it out and see where I will be delivering our little girl! Josh picks on me about how I signed us up for like 2o classes, but really only 4 (he likes to exaggerate) : ) But those classes aren't until May, can't wait for those either! Everything is coming together!

We picked up the crib and changing table from my aunt and uncle this past weekend, and the nursery is really coming together! I just love walking in there and seeing her little crib that she will soon be sleeping in. It makes me smile everytime I walk in that room! Here are some pictures we took on Sunday. Half way there!!

20 weeks down and 20 to go!! I can't believe I am half way through my pregnancy and in just 5 short months Baby Girl Thomas will be in my arms : ) My 20 week appointment was today and everything looked great! Here is a 20 week belly picture (she is definitely growing!)....

Starting on the nursery

It was a busy weekend, the nursery is fully painted (check out the flower stencils on the wall Josh did, Daddy did a good job huh?!) now we are ready for some furniture. We are getting new carpet installed on Monday, so we figured now would be the best time to paint and clean out the second bedroom. I've taken some pictures, and will take more once we get more things in there!

Baby Thomas now stands for Baby Girl!!!

Today was the big day, we found out our little one is a GIRL!!! My appointment was early this morning and it lasted about 20 minutes, they looked at everything from her brain down to her tiny little feet, and she looks absolutely perfect!! When the ultrasound tech asked us at the end if we wanted to know the sex I said, "oh yes!", and then she said it's a girl, I looked over at Josh and you could see he was in shock, and for a little bit I was too, I had really convinced myself that it was a boy, but I am just so happy that the baby is healthy and I cannot wait to hold her in my arms!! After the appointment we went to Target to take back the few boy outfits we had bought and exchanged them for cute girly outfits and we did some major shopping damage at some baby stores!! I am so excited and feel so blessed = )

18 weeks baby bump

I'll be 18 weeks tomorrow and well baby Thomas is the size of a large sweet potato!! Gotta love that! : )

I've started to feel the baby move and it's the best feeling, I can't wait until daddy is able to feel it too!!

16 week appointment

I had a Dr's appointment today and everything looked great, they checked my weight, blood pressure and he listened to the baby's heartbeat, and it sounded great, beating strong at 160! I also got to make the big ultrasound appointment to make sure baby Thomas is developing well and find out what it is!!! I cannot wait, I will be counting down the days, it is scheduled for March 2nd at 9am. 3 weeks!!! : )
I went to Target today after my appointment and looked at all the baby isles and I really can't wait until I know whether I will be buying pink or blue!

Fetal Doppler

So I bought a fetal doppler last pregnancy to be able to listen to the baby's heartbeat at home whenever I wanted to, and did not get a chance to use it last time, but I have been getting great use out of it since I turned 11 weeks. I just love being able to pull it out anytime if I start to get worried or have any concerns, and I am able to hear the baby's heartbeat, I just love it!! It took me a little bit to get the hang of finding it and distinguishing mine from the baby's but I definitely have it down pat down. The baby has such a strong heartbeat and it is usually in the 160's, and now that I am a little further long, when I listen I can actually hear movement in my belly! : )

Also I am 14 weeks and we may only have about 4 more weeks to find out what baby Thomas is!! (although it could be more like 6, but I am hoping it will only be 4!) The anticipation is killing me, but the wait will be well worth it!! : )

12 week appointment

I really wanted to start this site for friends and family to be able to follow Josh and my journey through this pregnancy and keep everyone up to date and share photos and fun things like that. So tomorrow I will be 12 weeks, it's really hard to believe that 3 months has already passed and baby Thomas is growing like a weed. I had my 12 week appointment today and we got an ultrasound done, and it was just the most amazing, incredible thing to see this little life on the screen jumping around and moving its arms and legs, it brings a smile to my face every time I think about it! They also did a test to check for Down Syndrome and other abnormalities and all looked well, so my next ultrasound will be the big one at 18 weeks to find out what baby Thomas is!! Today it really hit me how much I already love this little baby inside of me and how God has truly blessed Josh and I with this wonderful miracle! I also had lost 3 lbs since my last visit, not really sure how, but I think I may have to treat myself to a strawberry milkshake soon : )

Also Josh's mom wants to start taking belly pictures of me soon, so I will be posting those as the belly grows!
